Connect an AI app

SeasonalEdge is a remote MCP server: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code can read its scan, rules, strategies and track record and answer your questions with them. The app signs in with your SeasonalEdge account; you allow it once and can disconnect it from your account page at any time. It reads what your membership opens and cannot change anything.

What you need

A SeasonalEdge membership (get access), an AI app that takes custom connectors or MCP servers, and this address:

https://seasonaledge.com/api/mcp

Add it to your app

Menu names move between releases (these are October 2026’s); the address and the sign-in stay the same.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings, then Apps (or Connectors). Under Advanced, turn on developer mode; a Business or Enterprise workspace may need its admin to allow it.
  2. Create a connector: name it SeasonalEdge, paste the address, and choose OAuth as the authentication.
  3. ChatGPT opens SeasonalEdge: sign in and choose Allow. Then turn the connector on in a chat and ask.

Gemini app

  1. In the Gemini web app, open Settings, then Connected apps, and choose Add a custom app.
  2. Paste the address and follow the prompts: sign in to SeasonalEdge and choose Allow.
  3. Google offers custom apps to personal accounts in the US for now; work accounts use Gemini Enterprise, which takes the same address.

Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the address, then Connect: sign in to SeasonalEdge and choose Allow.
  3. The connector then appears in Claude on every device you sign in to.

Claude Code

  1. Add the server, then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose SeasonalEdge to sign in.
claude mcp add --transport http seasonaledge https://seasonaledge.com/api/mcp

Cursor

  1. Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or the project’s .cursor/mcp.json), then choose Connect next to SeasonalEdge in Cursor’s MCP settings to sign in.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "seasonaledge": {
      "url": "https://seasonaledge.com/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code (Copilot)

  1. Add this to .vscode/mcp.json or your user MCP settings, then start the server: VS Code asks you to sign in.
{
  "servers": {
    "seasonaledge": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://seasonaledge.com/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Gemini CLI

  1. Add this to ~/.gemini/settings.json, then run /mcp auth seasonaledge in Gemini CLI to sign in.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "seasonaledge": {
      "httpUrl": "https://seasonaledge.com/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Any other MCP client

  1. Add a remote MCP server with the Streamable HTTP transport and this address. The client finds the sign-in itself (OAuth 2.1 with dynamic registration).

What to ask

  • “Which calendar rules on SPY enter in the next five sessions, and in how many of their years did each beat holding?”
  • “Check AAPL, MSFT and NVDA: which rules enter in the next month, and how did each do after the research cutoff?”
  • “Did buying QQQ on the last session of the month beat holding it, year by year?”

Apps that show MCP prompts also offer these ready-made ones:

  • Entering soon: Rules that beat holding in most years and enter in the next few sessions, with the strategies entering too
  • Check my symbols: What calendar rules on your symbols enter in the coming month
  • Test a window: Whether a date window on a symbol beat holding it, year by year

What the app can read

data_statusHow fresh the data is, the research cutoff and coverage
list_universeEvery covered symbol, its category and lists
scan_rulesCalendar rules that beat holding the same symbol, filtered and sorted
get_ruleOne rule’s evidence, year by year, and its next entry
check_ruleYour own seasonal claim on a symbol, tested with the same evaluator
todayThe next session, strategies entering soon, positions open now
list_strategies, get_strategyThe registered strategies and one in full
strategy_scheduleA strategy’s next entry and exit and later windows
strategy_track_recordEach strategy’s trades since the research cutoff
export_strategyA strategy as a TradeStation, MultiCharts or TradingView script

How to read the answers

The app gets the same figures as these pages, and the rules for reading them. Returns are gross, before any trading cost or tax, so apply your own round-trip cost. Figures through the research cutoff are computed on history; results after it are shown apart. A calendar rule describes what happened in past years, not what a symbol will do, and nothing here is investment advice. The glossary defines every figure.

If it does not connect
