Track record

Three records, kept apart, and no figure on this page combines two of them.

In short: a record of research, not yet of published trades. This year’s strategy trades are a retrospective test until each strategy’s registration date, and the research catalog’s held-out year fell short of what it predicted (see below).

Since the research cutoff

What each strategy's rule did after the research cutoff, the current year: every trade that has closed since, on SPY at the open, gross. Out of sample: the rules were measured through the cutoff only, and none of these trades reached a figure they are judged by. Retrospective until each strategy's registration date; only trades entered after it were knowable in advance.

Research cutoff 2025-12-31; prices through 2026-10-15.

Held-out retrospective evaluation

What the catalog's research leads did on prices after the research cutoff, which discovery never saw, losses included. The catalog was not frozen and published in advance, so this is a held-out test of the current catalog, not a forward record.

Research cutoff 2025-12-31; prices through 2026-10-15.

The catalog’s promising leads predicted +0.81% a trade on the held-out year and made +0.19%, across 521 outcomes; 62% of trades predicted to rise, 52% did.

The catalog’s exploratory leads predicted +0.42% a trade on the held-out year and made +0.03%, across 1904 outcomes; 57% of trades predicted to rise, 51% did.

  • One year of held-out results: trades entered after 2025-12-31 and closed by 2026-10-15. A single year says more about how a pattern can fail than about its long-run rate.
  • Every symbol here still trades today; ones delisted earlier are missing, so survivorship bias is present and not estimated.
  • Within each confidence level, on one symbol and side, only non-overlapping windows are counted, chosen by the lowest q-value first, never by the best result.

Show all 2,425 counted trades, losses first

2,425 counted trades, losses first, out of 72,895 held-out trades in all. The rest overlap a stronger pattern at the same level on the same symbol and direction, so they are not averaged twice.
